L’Esprit promis
Notes d’évangile (Jn 15,26-27 ; 16,12-15)
Cœur à cœur avec les siens,
À l’Heure de nos ténèbres,
Il se livra sans détour.
Ultime et grave entretien.
En partance vers le Père,
À l’épreuve de l’Amour
Jésus dit à ses disciples :
Il me rendra témoignage,
Celui que je manderai.
Prodigue en grâces multiples,
Il sera votre langage,
Lui, l’Esprit de vérité.
De chez mon Père il procède
et témoigne en ma faveur.
Ce que je voudrais vous dire,
Il vous le fera connaître.
Paraclet, vrai Défenseur,
Force de ceux qu’il inspire.
Ce que le Père possède
Est à moi. Voilà pourquoi
De ma Gloire sans faillir
L’Esprit sera l’interprète.
C’est de moi qu’il recevra
Le feu de votre avenir.
Et vous porterez son fruit :
Paix, douceur dans la patience,
Maîtrise de soi, bonté,
Joie qui dure et réjouit,
Rosée de la bienveillance,
Amour et fidélité.
Philippe Wargnies sj
